Ex. CPO (GI) John ‘Barney’ Barnes, BEM. (1920-2011) passed away on the 9th of November. He served in the RN (1938-1950) and the RNZN (1950-1975).

Barney served in many posts while he was with the RNZN. His exiting testimonial gives an insight into his character “Chief Petty Officer BARNES has always been a credit to the Service and his bearing, conduct and loyalty can only be regarded as excellent.”

His funeral service will be held at 1100 hours on the 19th November at Romaleigh Funeral Home, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote.
