Recieved today via Bill Lochrie

I learnt on Sunday night that Roy (Nobby) Hall, Leading Seaman, 18485, had died suddenly earlier that day. Probably of a Heart Attack.

His funeral is being held at the Te Aroha RSA this Thursday, 24th June, at 1100.

Nobby had an interesting time in the Navy, including serving on HMY Brittania, and was on the first commission of HMNZS Canterbury.

I last saw him at a reunion of our 3L Mess group (from the F421 first commission 71/72) in Taupo just over a month ago, he was in good form with no sign of being crook.

Nobby was a real seaman, staunch patriot, but above all a loyal friend and bloody good bloke.

May he Rest in Peace, Nobby certainly worked hard enough to earn that.

Yours Aye,

Iggy
