THE TRUST
The formation of the Christchurch Naval Memorial Benevolent Trust was an initiative by the four Christchurch based ex naval associations namely, Royal New Zealand Naval Association, ex Royal Navalmens Association, RNVR/RNZNVR Association and the New Zealand ex Wrens Association.
All these associations have, as their primary objective the welfare of their members. They also all have a concern for young people and a consequent interest in encouraging in them - the values and standards that are part of the navy culture that is: teamwork, self-confidence, courage and pride.
The Trust provides a focus, coordinating role and funds through which assistance can be provided to ex naval personnel, their dependants and young people.
The Board of Trustees - one from each of the above associations, meets regularly to organize fund raising and consider applications for assistance. It arranges help and or disperses funds to successful applicants.
The Trust is a formally registered charity with Charitable Trust status. Its procedures and controls are directed in the Trust Deed. This enables it to make approach to major organizations for funding. It also means that donations and bequests attract a tax free rebate for the donor.

HOW CAN YOU HELP THE TRUST?

The less funds the less help. You can therefore help the Trust by donating or be questing money. Remember - we are navy people looking after navy people.
