It is with regret I advise of the passing of John Charles Christie (Charlie) CHM(E) L16386 RNZN 58-78 ships served Pukaki, Royalist, Kiama,Taranaki, Lachlan, Waikato, Pegasus.
 
Charlie had been suffering from bad asbestosis for the last few years, and died as the result of a fall at his home yesterday. September 1st.

Followup

Charlie passed away peacefully on the Tuesday 1st September 2009, aged 67 years.

A service will be held on Monday 7th September at the Ferry Park Chapel, 297 Ferry Road, Christchurch commencing at 1430 followed by a private cremation.

Messages to the Christie family may be sent to P.O. BOX 10345 Christchurch. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Respiratory Unit, Christchurch Hospital would be appreciated and may be made at the service.
