Hello Shipmates and Associates

It is with sadness that I advise the crossing of the bar of shipmate:
NEVILL SMITH NZ 8651 AB, RNZN WW2 on Thursday 24 September.
 
Nevill was in Timaru Hospital at the time and his passing was unexpected so it became quite a shock to Eileen and their family. For those who wish to attend his funeral, it will be held in St Mary's Church Timaru on Tuesday 29th at 1400, medals to be worn... Our Association's notice will be published on Monday.

Nevill has been one of our branch members for many years, was awarded Branch Life membership in 1985, and Dominion Life membership in 1999. I have not been able to find details of his naval service at present, but he did serve with the RN on an aircraft-carrier.
