To those who served in the 1950's you may recall Capt Herrick in Philomel.
 
Last week, 15 April,  Captain Terry Herrick RN died in Masterton at age 97.

His funeral is on Wedneday 22 April in Carterton.

Born in Napier, he won a Governor General's nomination to Dartmouth entering the RN in 1925. He served on the NZ Station in LABURNUM & DUNEDIN. He was Captain of PHILOMEL and 'NOCA' in 1955-56 and ACNS in Wellington, 1964.
He had written a book of his career: "Into the Blue," 1997
